BIO

Lolly is a London-based self-shooting director & DOP. She has ample experience in working with agencies, brands, influencers and fellow film creatives to produce authentic, relatable and engaging content. She also expands herself creatively by working on various camera teams as a camera operator and camera assistant (2nd AC) for commercial & narrative film productions.

Most recently she worked on Aesthetica Short Film selected, ÓWÀMBÉ (developed and created as part of the Netflix Documentary Talent Fund). Her most recent DOP work is the short film, Dear Black Child, which was also recently selected for the 2022 Aesthetica Short Film Festival and has also been selected at other film festivals such as Cannes Indie Shorts and Venezia Shorts in 2021.

2019 she stepped into the scene as a music video director, appearing on the NTA & BAFTA-nominated BBC hit show, The Rap Game UK. 2020 she became a BFI award-winning DOP for one of her projects, Motherland, after it became officially selected at three BAFTA-Qualifying film festivals: Underwire, London Short Film Festival (LSFF) & BFI Future Film & secured the 'Best New Talent Documentary' at the BFI Future Film. Since this success, she has been exploring the world of filmmaking and has worked on a variety of projects, including the creation of her first short film which is currently in post-production.

Lolly continually aims to challenge the status quo by being a black female navigating the film production industry. Being a strong advocate for women of colour who work in the industry, she built a platform to empower the community called #WomenCreateToo and created a podcast under the same name. It launched in March 2020, and fast-forward a few months later was supported by Superdrug, after she won the 2020 'Faces of the Future' competition.
